a bit about me
My name is Georgia and I’m a queer film photographer based in Chicago. I fell in love with analog in a high school darkroom class in 2012. Since then I’ve been on a meandering journey experimenting with 35mm, medium format, and Polaroid film. I now find myself back in the darkroom - 13 years later.
This collection weaves together portraits of dear friends, queertopias, portals and encounters from my travels since 2018, and images from an ongoing project about a beloved and deeply precious place —Lake Michigan. Film is an intimate and sacred exchange, a humbling, state shifting experience in a strange and lonely world. Through film I hope to archive the ephemeral, document queer life in Chicago and preserve in memory the complex and tender qualities of this beautiful and wacky world we call home.
